Dr. Maria Amaro
               Dr. Amaro was born in Puerto Rico and grew up in New York. She completed both her undergraduate work and veterinary schooling at Cornell University in New York. After graduation, she participated in a small animal medicine and surgical internship at the University of Minnesota Veterinary College.  She has been working at the Community Animal Hospital since January 1997.  Her special interests in veterinary medicine include management of endocrine diseases, management of arthritis, and other aspects of internal medicine. Outside of the clinic, Dr. Amaro enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, reading, scuba diving and other outdoor activities.
 
Dr. Robert Orr
                  Dr. Orr grew up in Willmar, MN.  He earned his BS in Biology in 1988 and completed his DVM in 1993 both at the University of Minnesota. He started out after college in a Mixed animal practice in Cold Spring, Minnesota before moving down to Los Lunas, New Mexico for a short time in a small animal/Equine practice. He moved back to Minnesota in 1997 where he and his wife Maria (Dr. Amaro) purchased the Community Animal Hospital where they have expanded a single practitioner small animal practice into a busy two doctor companion animal/ Equine practice. His special intrests in veterinary medicine include companion animal orthopedic and soft tissue surgery, reptile medicine and surgery, and equine reproductive management. In his free time, Dr. Orr enjoys working with his horses, helping out at the Pine Grove Zoo, playing basketball, scuba diving, and watching his kids grow up too fast.
 
Michele Newman, CVT
                  Michele grew up just outside Little Falls. She earned her AAS degree in veterinary Technology from Ridgewater College in Willmar, MN in 2000.
 
Cassie Boser, CVT
                  Cassie grew up in Pierz, MN. She earned her AAS degree in veterinary Technology from Ridgewater College in Willmar, MN in 2002. After college she worked for a year and a half at Tri-County Humane Society as a Vet Tech before coming to work at Community Animal Hospital. She enjoys training and riding her horses, as well as competing in dog agility and spending time with her family. Cassie also plays an active roll in the local humane society as well as running a pet rescue of her own.
 
Melinda Dickinson, CVT
                  Melinda grew up in Swanville, MN. She earned her AAS degree from Veterinary Technology at Ridgewater College in Willmar, MN in 2004. Shortly after graduating she was offered a position here at Community Animal Hospital. In her free time she enjoys spenging time with her family riding horse, gardening, and helping the Pine Grove Zoo with fundraisers. She has many pets including dogs, cats, and horses.
 
Jill Thelander
                  Jill was born and raised in Little Falls, MN. She is a graduate of the Little Falls Community High School and attended Brainerd Technical College for 2 years. She has been a part of the Community Animal Hospital staff since 1998. Jill and her daughter Erin live on their century farm in the Little Falls area with their many pets which include dogs, cats, chickens, goats, and ponies. In her spare time Jill enjoys gardening, golf, scrapbooking, and reading.
